MANILA, Philippines – The southwest monsoon or “habagat” has slightly weakened but will still Affect parts of Northern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.
In its latest weather forecast, the state weather bureau said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms are expected to prevail in Aurora, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Isabela, Cagayan, Batanes, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the west to southwest will prevail in Northern Luzon and Aurora, Pagasa added.
Meanwhile, in the Visayas, Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms are expected.
In Metro Manila, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers are likewise expected due to localized thunderstorms.
No other weather disturbance is being monitored around the Philippine area of responsibility. /gsg
