2 men dead, another hurt in motorcycle accident in Bohol

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Philippines — Two men died and another was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Corella town on Saturday night.

Staff Sgt. Renato Sinajon, desk officer of the Corella Municipal Police Station, identified the fatalities as Raymond Paul Andoy, a 31-year-old resident of Purok 4 in Barangay Poblacion, Corella town, and Anthony Lacea, a 35-year-old resident of Purok 6 in Barangay Alegria, Catigbian town.

Another man was injured in the accident. He was identified as Kleonel John Duterte, 24, a resident of Poblacion, Corella, Bohol, who was the back rider of Andoy.

According to Sinajon, Andoy was on his way to Corella at around 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, when the motorcycle he was driving hit and collided head-on with the motorcycle driven by Lacea at the National Highway of Purok 1 in Sambog, Corella town.

“Lacea was accidentally hit and sideswiped by Andoy while traveling in the same direction,” Sinajon said.

Both drivers and back rider were taken to hospitals in Tagbilaran for medical attention, but Andoy was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Lacea died on Sunday morning, while Duterte was still recuperating in the hospital, according to police.
