MANILA, Philippines — Some 82% of adult Filipinos said they were satisfied with the government’s campaign against illegal drugs in the second quarter of 2019, the latest Social Weather Survey showed.
According to the survey, only 12% said they were dissatisfied with the campaign while 6% said they were undecided.
This resulted in a net satisfaction rating of +70, which is considered “excellent.”
The second quarter 2019 net satisfaction rating of President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign matches its +70 rating in March 2019 but fails to reach its the highest recorded net satisfaction rating of +77 in December 2016.
“Net Satisfaction with the campaign has always been either very good (+50 to +69) or excellent (+70 and above) in the past 11 survey rounds,” the survey noted.
The dwindling number of drug suspects was identified as the top reason among individuals who were satisfied with the campaign. On the contrary, the continued prevalence of drug trade was cited as the top reason among those dissatisfied with the campaign.
The June 2019 Social Weather Survey was conducted from June 22 to 26, 2019, using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults nationwide, with sampling error margins of ±3% for national percentages.
