BAGAC, Bataan –– More than 10,000 people in this town have committed to join the annual international coastal cleanup drive on Saturday.
Nick Ancheta, Bagac municipal administrator, said the participants would include school children, non-government organizations, village officials, and religious sectors.
“This year’s coastal clean-up event will have a different twist because we are launching the ‘One Bagac For Zero Plastic’ campaign,” Ancheta said.
The environmental drive will be launched in Bagac’s 14 villages, eight of which are coastal barangays that host private and public resorts, Ancheta said.
He said plastic waste is “dumped indiscriminately” in these resorts./lzb
