Head of transport group gunned down in Lucena
LUCENA CITY –– The head of a local tricycle drivers and operators group was shot and killed on Friday, police said.
Aladin Villanueva was standing in front of a roadside eatery when he was shot by the assailant armed with a handgun of still unknown caliber in Barangay Dalahican around 7:30 a.m., Lt. Colonel Reydante Ariza, Lucena police chief, said in a report.
The suspect escaped after the shooting.
The victim died while being taken to the St. Ann General Hospital at the city proper.
Police said the victim was the head of the transport group plying the coastal village of Dalahican and city market route. Delfin T. Mallari Jr./lzb
