Freed convicts in South Cotabato urged to yield to authorities

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato –– The South Cotabato police command has urged Friday convicts freed under the good conduct time allowance (GCTA) law, to yield peacefully to authorities.

Colonel Joel Limson, South Cotabato police director, said there were still eight persons in the province who have not turned themselves in.

“Yield peacefully and go to your nearest police station. If not, we will go after you,” Limson said.

Limson asked their families to encourage the freed convicts to surrender as the deadline set by President Duterte lapsed Thursday night.

The President has offered P1 million bounty for those who can capture the freed convicts, dead or alive.

Five freed convicts earlier surrendered to various police stations in the province and have been turned over to the Bureau of Corrections, Limson said./lzb
