Pagasa: Expect cloudy skies, isolated rains on Thursday
MANILA, Philippines – Scattered rains will prevail in Luzon, including Metro Manila and Western Visayas due to the trough or extension of Tropical Depression Nimfa and the southwest monsoon or “habagat,” the state weather bureau said Thursday.
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers are expected in the Visayas and Mindanao due to localized thunderstorms.
Pagasa said “Nimfa” was last spotted 758 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.
The tropical depression packs maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
Nimfa was also spotted moving northeast slowly. /gsg
