4 casual gov’t employees, 2 others nabbed in drug bust at Davao Sur beach resort

DIGOS CITY—Four casual employees of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Davao del Sur were arrested with two others in an anti-drug operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and police on Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the town of Malalag.

Capt. Susannah Jo Buenaflor, Davao del Sur police spokesperson, identified the government employees as Tony Gleen Oquindo Bansilan, 40, resident of Barangay Mati, Digos City; Michael Romero Villaber, 43, resident of Roxas Extension, Digos City; Noel Sanico Bartolome, 34, resident of Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur; and Renante Enriquez Mejorada, 43, resident of Barangay Aplaya, Digos City.

The two others are Ruel Luasa Gonzaga, 34, resident of Barangay Mati, Digos City; and Jayson Gabutin Medez, 35, resident of Barangay Bulacan, Malalag, Davao del Sur.

Buenaflor said the suspects were arrested in a drug bust at Eagle’s Crib Beach Resort at the village of Baybay in Malalag. Seized were eight packs of shabu, or crystal meth, worth P240,000 and a pack of dried marijuana.

The law enforcement team also seized a motorcycle, four mobile phones and drug paraphernalia. The suspects had been detained at the Malalag police station./TSB
