Cinco-Pintor duo cops boys U-18 title

The tandem of Dan Eldred Cinco and Janel Troy Pintor beat Bernardine “Nino” Siso and Juniel Espinosa, 8-4, to clinch the boys 18-Under doubles title of the 16th Gullas Cup at the Cebu Country Club (CCC) tennis courts.

This Group 2 Philippine Tennis Association (Philta)-sanctioned tournament will come to an end today with the singles finals in all categories still at the CCC.
In the distaff side, Sally Mae Siso and Hannah Grace Espinosa did a demolition job on Christine Bellita and Elma Dasian, 8-1, to bring home the title.

In the boys 16-Under doubles, Ralph Julianne and Marc Norman Enriquez dismissed Jarryd Laurel and Ondoy, 8-2, for the title.

The girls title went to Mary Claire Lazaga and Sharalyn Tunacao. A well rested Lazaga and Tunacao outlasted the duo of Carissa Miflores and Grace Melchor, 8-6.
While Lazaga and Tunacao were automatic finalists, Miflores and Melchor had to survive a tight semifinals match against Elgy Dasian and Glory Faith Bohol, 8-7 (7-0).

The 14-Under doubles titles went to Jet Justin Asilo and Joshua Kinaadman for the boys and Crissianne Issa Lucero Kintanar and Criszelle Castro for the girls.
Asilo and Kinaadman lambasted the pair of Jermaine Laurel and Christopher Encarnacion, 8-4 while Kintanar and Castro survived the tandem of Alexie Santos and Jana Pages, 8-6.

Gener Francis Lambayan and Arthur Craig “Igi” Diaz Pantino combined to notch the boys 12-Under doubles title with an 8-6 overpowering of Derek Tabotabo and Jan Godfrey Seno.

The girls title went to Allysa Bornia and Sheena Villareal at the expense of Kara Salimbangon and Beverly Olive Enriquez, 8-5.

SINGLES FINALS

Bernardine and Sally Mae Siso will be vying for the 18-Under titles in their respective divisions in the singles division.
Bernardine will face Cinco while Sally Mae takes on Bellita.

The 16-Under boys title will be contested by Francis Eduard Parangan and John Michael Necesario while vying for the girls title are Lazaga and Espinosa.
Doubles partner Asilo and Kinaadman will part ways today as they face each other for the 14-Under boys title. The distaff side will test the mettle of Kintanar and Pages sans their partners.

The rivalry between Seno and Pantino intensifies as they challenge each other again for the boys 12-Under title. The girls title will be contested by Santos and Bornia.

Marc Suson, who is fast emerging as a strong contender in the 10 under unisex, will face Earlcullin Maxilom for the title.

Suson survived a scare against Adrian Kinaadman in the semis, 7-6, 6-0; while Maxilom outsmarted Sebastian Santos, 6-3, 6-4.
