The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and monsoon rains are expected in many parts of Luzon on Wednesday due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat”  and the trough or extension of Tropical Depression Nimfa.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region and Ilocos region will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers due to the trough of Nimfa.

Meanwhile, similar conditions will prevail in Metro Manila, Bicol region, Western Visayas, Calabarzon and Mimaropa region due to the southwest monsoon, Pagasa said.

In Central Luzon and the provinces of Mindoro and Palawan, monsoon rains are expected also due to the “habagat” and a low-pressure area in the vicinity of San Jose, Tarlac.

The Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. /gsg
