A TRISIKAD driver who sought out his neighbor to thresh out a conflict ended up getting killed in barangay Carreta, Cebu City, on Wednesday night.
Jelmar Sumalpong, 38, was shot in the face.
The victim’s wife, who saw the killing, identified the suspect as Teodoro Mahilum, said police.
Police said Sumalpong and his wife Marites went to see Mahilum after they learned that their child was slapped in the face by the neighbor.
The couple came across Mahilum on Briones Street past 6 p.m.
The talk, however, turned into a heated argument between the two men.
At the height of the quarrel, Mahilum drew a gun and shot the trisikad driver in front of his wife.
After the shooting, Mahilum tried to flag down a taxi.
However, the driver, Rolando Arpon, did not stop and instead reported the shooting to the Fuente police station.
When policemen arrived in Carreta, the suspect was no longer around. CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
