LPA off Batanes turns into Tropical Depression ‘Nimfa’

MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area last spotted east of Basco, Batanes has turned into Tropical Depression “Nimfa,” the state weather bureau said.


The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said “Nimfa” developed as of Tuesday, 2 p.m.

Pagasa added that it will issue a severe weather bulletin at 5 p.m. Tuesday.


Earlier, Pagasa said light to moderate rain is expected over Metro Manila and some parts of Luzon. /muf
