CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—-Two Chinese nationals are now detained at the Cogon police station here for allegedly trying to sexually assault two female massage attendants and reportedly punching another employee inside a spa on Monday, Sept 16, police said.
In an interview Tuesday, city police spokesperson Maj. Evan Viñas identified the suspects as Samuel Yeong, 67, married, and his son Kenneth, 36, both residing at Barangay Kauswagan.
Yeong’s wife was said to own a grocery store near the Cogon public market here, police said.
According to a police report, the suspects, who spoke a little English and Cebuano, were drunk when they entered the spa.
Viñas cited witnesses saying the two were unruly.
Quoting spa attendants, police said the suspects reportedly grabbed the spa workers’ hands and tried to place these on their private parts, prompting the women to run and report the to the manager.
The Chinese nationals allegedly punched the establishment’s manager as they were about to pay their bill.
Viñas said the spa employees stood their ground and would sue the aliens.
He said the suspects will be charged with grave coercion in relation to sexual assault and physical injuries.
When asked to show travel documents, the Chinese nationals failed to present their passports and visas although the elder Yeong had a driver’s license reportedly issued by the Land Transportation Office, Viñas said.
He said until the suspects can present papers, they are considered illegal aliens./tsb
