MANILA, Philippines — Several areas in Luzon are expected to experience light to moderate with occasional heavy rain showers on Monday afternoon as the southwest monsoon continues to affect the region, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In an advisory released 2 p.m., the state weather bureau said light to moderate with occasional heavy rains will affect Metro Manila and nearby provinces of Cavite, laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, and Bulacan.
Light to moderate rains are also expected over Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Bataan, and Pampanga.
Pagasa advised the public and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices in the areas affected to continue monitoring the weather status.
“Residents in these areas are advised to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods in low lying areas and landslides over mountainous areas,” Pagasa said. /je
