TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol –– A couple, who went missing in the sea for two days, were rescued by fishermen in Bohol on Sunday afternoon.
Police Staff Sergeant Noel Monton of the Albuquerque Police Station said fishermen found spouses Samuel and Olympia Caldino of Barangay Lagunde in Oslob town, south Cebu between Panglao Island and Oslob at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
The couple went out to fish in the sea but encountered strong waves and wind last Friday, Sept. 13. Their motor banca was wrecked.
They were drifted for days in the Bohol Sea until they were found by three fishermen–Reynaldo Tagyamon, Erwin Pahayahay, and Elmar Mananquil–all residents of Albuquerque town in Bohol.
The couple arrived in mainland Bohol at 10 p.m. on Sunday and were brought to the Albuquerque Police Station.
Monton said the couple looked weak and they were transported to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital for medical attention.
He also said their station already coordinated with the family of Caldino in Oslob. /lzb
