MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck off South Ubian, Tawi-Tawi at 7:21a.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The earthquake’s epicenter was traced 312 kilometers southeast of South Ubian.
It was of tectonic in origin and had a depth of 593 km, Phivolcs said in its initial bulletin.
Phivolcs said no aftershocks are expected, while no significant damage has been reported as of posting time. /gsg
