LEGAZPI CITY, Albay, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives arrested on Sunday afternoon a public school teacher after selling P67,000 worth of suspected crystal meth, or “shabu,” in a buy-bust operation in Albay province, according to Christian Frivaldo, Bicol director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Frivaldo identified the teacher as Ramon Cuya, a 38-year-old resident of Tiwi town.

Cuya was arrested at around 3 p.m. on Maharlika Highway in Barangay Balza in Malinao town.

Authorities seized from him two heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 10 grams and a motorcycle he used.

The suspect, who is said to be a PDEA high-value target, is currently detained at the Malinao Municipal Police Station.
