MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression Marilyn is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Sunday or early Monday morning, the state weather bureau said Friday.

“Linggo o lunes ng madaling araw tuluyan na aalis ng Philippine Area of Responsibility,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Weather specialist Chris Perez said in a 5 p.m. live press briefing.

Perez, however, said the weather disturbance could re-enter the northern boundary of PAR on Tuesday, September 17, and might move towards east of Taiwan.

“Sa Martes, posibleng pumasok ulit at magre-enter sa northern boundary ng PAR at kumilos patungong silangang bahagi ng Taiwan area,” Perez said.

The tropical depression was last seen at 1,045 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.

Marilyn is packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

Perez likewise said Marilyn is less likely to make landfall in the Philippines.
