DAGUPAN CITY –– Ten months after he was released from prison through the Good Conduct Time Allowance or GCTA law, a convict voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Ilocos Sur on Thursday afternoon.

The convict, a resident of Barangay Licungan in Sugpon town, Ilocos Sur, turned himself in to the Sugpon town police station at 3 p.m.

He said he was willing to return to the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) after hearing about President Duterte’s order issued to close to 2,000 freed convicts under the GCTA law.
