PDEA drug bust in Taguig nets 2 suspects, half kilo of ‘shabu’
MANILA, Philippines — More than P3 million worth of crystal meth, or shabu, was seized from two suspected pushers in front of a chapel in Taguig, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Thursday, Sept. 12.
Levi Ortiz, PDEA special enforcement service director, identified the suspects as Aijo Dinglasan Akaoka, 23, and Christian Reyes Aguilar, 41.
Undercover PDEA agents launched a buy-bust operation in front of the Saint Joseph Chapel at the village of Ususan around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, which led to half a kilogram of shabu being seized with an estimated value of P3.4 million.
Also seized from the suspects were a motorcycle, two mobile phones, ID cards and P1,000 in marked money.
The PDEA said the meth was inside a foil pack with foreign characters and a brown paper bag.
The seized drugs were brought to the PDEA lab for tests while charges against the suspects were being prepared./TSB
