MANILA, Philippines – Several local flights were canceled on Thursday, September 12, 2019 due to inclement weather.
In an advisory on Thursday, the Manila International Airport Authority (Miaa) announced the cancellation of the following flights:

2P 2557 Manila-Dipolog
2P 2558 Dipolog-Manila
Cebu Pacific
5J 513 Manila-San Jose
5J 514 San Jose-Manila
5J 196 Manila-Cauayan
5J 197 Cauayan-Manila
A tropical depression is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) by Thursday afternoon or evening, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
It will be named “Marilyn” once it enters PAR.

The weather bureau said that while it has no direct effect yet over the country, but its trough or extension may bring rain showers in many parts of the country, including the Bicol region, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Quirino, Aurora, Isabela and Cagayan.
The trough will also bring rain showers over Visayas.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience cloudy skies weather with scattered rain showers due to localized thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Cloudy skies and isolated rains will also prevail over Mindanao due to localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
Gale warnings were raised in Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte, Siquijor, southern coast of Bohol, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Dinagat Islands, Siargao, Agusan del Norte, Camiguin and Misamis provinces./gsg
