Lightning strikes farmer dead in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY — A farmer was killed when lightning struck in Hacienda Socorro, Barangay Odiong, Moises Padilla town, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, April 18.

Police said three others were injured by the lightning.

Killed was Saldy Alegre Marfil, 42.

The victims were about to harvest rice when heavy rain poured, prompting them to go home.

On their way home, lightning struck and resulted to the death of Marfil, the police report said./lzb
