The low-pressure area spotted east of the Visayas has intensified into a tropical depression on Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Its trough or extension will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains over Eastern Visayas, the Bicol region, Quezon and Aurora, it added.

Zambales and Bataan are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought by the southwest monsoon.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.
