MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck Agusan del Norte Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its initial bulletin, Phivolcs reported the temblor hit 15 kilometers (km) southeast of Remedios Romualdez, Agusan del Norte at 11:14 a.m.
The quake of tectonic origin had a depth of 13 km and was felt at Intensity III in Remedios Romualdez, Agusan del Norte and in Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.
Intensity II was felt in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte and Surigao City, Surigao del Norte; and Intensity I in Ginoog, Misamis Oriental.
Phivolcs said no aftershocks or damage could be expected from the earthquake. /je
