MANILA, Philippines – A stretch of Roxas Boulevard in the Luneta area will be closed to motorists on Monday, Sept. 9, to make way for the state visit of President Halimah Yacob of Singapore, the Manila Police District Traffic Enforcement Unit said Sunday.
The north and southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from TM Kalaw Avenue to Katigbak Drive will be closed starting at 10 a.m. and rerouting of vehicles will be implemented. No time for the reopening the boulevard was announced.
Motorists are advised to do the following:
Southbound lane
Light vehicles intending to use the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard should turn right to Katigbak Drive, left to Independence Road, left to South Drive, or left to P. Burgos Avenue, right to Ma. Orosa Street, right to TM Kalaw Avenue, and on to point of destination.
Trucks and trailer trucks intending to use the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard should turn left to P. Burgos Avenue, right to Finance Road, and on to point of destination.
Northbound lane
Light vehicles intending to use the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall turn right to TM Kalaw Avenue, left to Ma. Orosa Street, right to Finance Road, and on to point of destination.
Trucks and trailer trucks intending to use the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard should turn right to President Quirino Avenue, to point of destination.
The traffic authorities are advising motorists to take alternate routes as very heavy traffic is expected in the area.
