MANILA, Philippines — Besides interpreting the laws of the land, Supreme Court Associate Justice Marvic Leonen appears to have another talent: Making netizens “kilig” — that is, romantically excited — over his feel-good love advice.
Leonen impressed everyone as he imparted some words of wisdom on love through his Twitter posts.
In one tweet, Leonen likened the concept of being in a relationship to that of Supreme Court oral arguments: The questions thrown at you will be numerous, and they may even be tough to answer.
Ang relasyon ay tulad ng Supreme Court oral arguments: marami at matindi ang interpellation questions. Madalas hindi mo masagot dahil hindi mo pinaghandaan o pinag-aralang mabuti. Maari ding may tinatago ka.

Leonen advised a certain “Sunshine” on the best time to profess her love to someone.
“The ‘best’ time to tell him* you love him is after you discover all his fatal flaws, learned his life story, analyzed his past relationships if any. All this time, he should have made you feel safe. That he cooks is a plus,” the Associate Justice said.
PS. If he* is a law student or lawyer, he should be able to recite with feelings article III (Bill of Rights) of the Constitution.
Welcome

Should Sunshine declare her love for someone who is a lawyer, Leonen dropped this advice: “PS. If he* is a law student or lawyer, he should be able to recite with feelings Article III (Bill of Rights) of the Constitution.”
Leonen also replied to “Ms C,” who appears to have a problem in expressing her feelings to her partner.
“Contrary to popular belief humans cannot evolve mental telepathy even when in a relationship. To avoid unnecessary angst, tell your partner what you want. That’s why humanity invented words,” Leonen said.
Dear Ms C
Contrary to popular belief humans cannot evolve mental telepathy even when in a relationship. To avoid unnecessary angst, tell your partner what you want. That’s why humanity invented words.

Asked the simple yet complex question “What is love?” Leonen replied that it has several definitions in both the dictionary and thesaurus.
Dear M
The definitions of “love” are in the dictionary. Just choose any that you like. Shorter versions can be found in the Thesaurus. Pwede ding DuckDuckGo.

And if someone would want to be the next #LabGuru, Leonen required such qualifications such as being “above 50 years old” and having at least 10 TOTGAs (the one that got away).
One must also be qualified for the good conduct time allowance (GCTA) — a reference to the law that is currently part of today’s headlines.
