Woman stabbed dead, companion hurt in Quezon City road altercation
MANILA, Philippines—A female car sales agent was stabbed dead while her co-worker was wounded following an alleged traffic altercation while they were on their way to a Christmas party in Quezon City late Thursday night.
The victim, Felma Cruz, 20, died of a stab wound in the neck in the incident that occurred along Mindanao Ave. in Barangay Pasong Putik, Novaliches at around 10:30 p.m.
Her companion, Richard Ernie, 20, sustained a knife wound, also in neck, but survived.
Case investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Jaime Jimena said both victims were residents of Bulacan and sales agents of Kotse Network.
Cruz died on the spot while Ernie was rushed to the Commonwealth Hospital and then transferred to the East Avenue Medical Center.
Their attacker was an unidentified man driving an Isuzu Highlander sports utility vehicle, whose plate number no one was able to get.
Article continues after this advertisementPolice investigation revealed that the two victims, along with some friends, were on their way to a party onboard a Starex van owned and driven by Archie Wage.
Article continues after this advertisementBut while traversing Mindanao Avenue, their van was suddenly hit on its right side by the SUV.
Enraged, the driver of the Highlander started hurling invectives at the van passengers then sped off.
The Starex gave chase and blocked the SUV’s path. Cruz and Ernie got out of their van and immediately confronted the other driver.
In the ensuing commotion, the SUV driver attacked the two victims with a knife before fleeing in his vehicle. Ernie managed to stagger back to his companions to seek help.
