Metro Manila, rest of PH to have cloudy skies, isolated rain for Saturday

MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have cloudy skies on Saturday, the state weather bureau said.

In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Metro Manila, some parts of Luzon and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will also experience isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Zambales and Bataan will have cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorm due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

Pagasa said it is currently monitoring two shallow low-pressure areas (LPA). One in Northern Luzon while the other in the Pacific Ocean.

The LPAs, however, will not intensify into a typhoon, Pagasa said.   /muf
