LUCENA CITY, Philippines – A trailer truck driver was killed and 25 others were injured after a wayward passenger bus rammed three vehicles before crashing into a house along Maharlika Highway in Atimonan town in Quezon province on Friday, police said. Major Alejandro Onquit, Atimonan police chief, reported that the Bicol-bound bus owned by Elavil Tours Philippine Inc. and being driven by Aldin Madera overtook a tricycle while negotiating a descending curved section of the highway in Barangay Angeles around 4:40 p.m. But while overtaking, the passenger bus accidentally collided to an incoming trailer truck being driven by Ireneo Abayon. The wayward bus subsequently hit the tricycle and another motorcycle before finally crashing into a house along the side of the highway. Abayon died on the spot from fatal body injuries. The accident caused injuries to the following: 16 bus passengers including Madera,  2  aboard the truck, 2 on the tricycle, 5 onboard motorcycles and one house occupant. They were all taken to Doña Martha Memorial District Hospital and at Nuestra Senora Delos Angles General Hospital in the town center.
