Did You Know: September is National Peace Consciousness Month

/ 05:16 AM September 06, 2019

September was declared National Peace Consciousness Month under Proclamation No. 675 signed on July 20, 2004 by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

September was chosen because several peace-building milestones happened during the month, like the United Nations’ declaration of Sept. 21 as International Day of Peace.

The Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process was tasked as the lead government agency in charge of marking the occasion. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
