Palparan expected to surrender in Manila—NBI

/ 02:06 PM December 23, 2011

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Philippines—The regional director for Central Luzon of the National Bureau of Investigation said he expects retired Major General Jovito Palparan to surrender to the courts in Manila on Friday.

Ricardo Diaz, head of a team trying to track down Palparan,  would not say, however, how he found out about the fugitive’s imminent surrender.

A Bulacan court has issued a warrant for the arrest of Palparan, who is accused of abduction and illegally detention in connection with the disappearance of University of the Philippines students Sherlyn Cadapan and Karen Empeño in June 2006.
