2 drug suspects slain in gunfight with Ecija cops

CABANATUAN CITY–Two alleged pushers were killed in separate buy-bust operations in Nueva Ecija on Wednesday (Sept. 5), police said.

Lt. Col. Ponciano Zafra, city police chief, identified the slain suspects as Wifredo Parulan, a resident of Barangay Sumacab Este here, and Ryan Morales of Tarlac.

Zafra said Parulan and Morales resisted arrest and engaged local police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in a gunfight during the operations.

Parulan, who was on the police’s watch list, was killed here at 3:10 p.m. while Morales was shot dead around 4 a.m. in Quezon town, investigators said. Armand Galang/TSB
