LUCENA CITY — A former drug convict was killed by still unidentified gunmen in Candelaria town in Quezon province Wednesday night, police said.
Herson Gamilla, 44, was repeatedly shot by the gunmen while standing inside the terrace of his house in Barangay (village) Malabanban Norte at around 9 p.m., a report from Quezon police headquarters said.
The armed men immediately escaped after the shooting while the victim died on the spot.
Investigators recovered several spent shells from calibers .45 and .40 pistols at the crime scene.
Police said the victim, a tattoo artist, was arrested in 2016 for drug trafficking case and was sent to jail. He was released last year following a plea bargaining agreement with the court. /jpv
