MANILA, Philippines — The Armed Forces of the Philippines on Monday honored three soldiers who had earned recognition as recipients of the 2019 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipino – Award for Soldiers.
Lt. Col. John Paul Baldomar of the Army, Maj. Romulo Dimayuga of the Marines, and Master Sgt. Ramil Caporas of the Army will be awarded by the Metrobank Foundation this month.
The three military personnel were recognized during Monday’s flag-raising ceremony in Camp Aguinaldo, the AFP said in a statement.
“You have proven your diligence and perseverance for the advancement of our country and our fellow men through the simple yet extraordinary achievements in the performance of your duties,” AFP chief Gen. Benjamin Madrigal Jr. was quoted as saying.
Baldomar was recognized for his role in the implementation of the AFP Transformation Roadmap, the military’s program for good governance.
Dimayuga was credited for his stints in anti-communist insurgency and anti-terrorism operations, as well as his contributions to the standardization of training programs to improve the combat effectiveness of Force Reconnaissance Group.
Marawi siege veteran Caporas, meanwhile, was recognized for his expertise in explosive ordnance disposal.
The Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos is a career-service award for public service in the academe, military and police sector. Each of the awardees will receive a cash prize of P1 million, a gold medallion, and a trophy during Metrobank’s 57th anniversary celebration.
