Magnitude 4.4 quake hits Davao Occidental

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck Sarangani town in Davao Occidental on Sunday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

According to Phivolcs, the quake was reported at 2:23 p.m. with its epicenter located 49 kilometers southwest of Sarangani.

The quake, of tectonic origin, had a depth of 32 kilometers.

Phivolcs expects no reports of damage or aftershocks following the quake.
