MANILA, Philippines — Pampanga and other parts of Luzon will experience moderate to heavy rains on Friday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.
In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 3 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds will be experienced over Pampanga, Bulacan, Zambales and Quezon province within the next two hours.
Meanwhile, the said conditions are currently being experienced in Nueva Ecija (Carranglan, Pantabangan, Lupao, Muñoz, General Tinio, Laur) and Laguna (Pila, Santa Cruz, Victoria, Calauan, Bay) which may persist within two hours and may affect nearby areas.
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” the advisory read.
Pagasa earlier said that Metro Manila, as well as western and central parts of Luzon, will have cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorm due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”
The state weather bureau added that it is monitoring a cloud-cluster over the eastern part of the country, which could develop into a new low-pressure area. /jpv
