Armored van driver nabbed for cocking gun at traffic enforcer in Makati
MANILA, Philippines – A driver of an armored van was taken under police custody after allegedly cocking and pointing his gun at a traffic enforcer in Makati on Thursday morning.
Makati police identified the suspect as Reynante Benian, 28, who is a driver of an Armored Transport Plus Inc. (ATPI) van while the victim was identified as Erwin Ramos, 29, a Makati Parking Authority (MAPA) enforcer.
Initial investigation showed that Ramos confronted Benian, who is on board a van with plate number RJY-689, because the latter illegally parked his vehicle along Ormaza Street corner Dela Rosa Street in Barangay Lorenzo.
Benian suddenly pulled out his shotgun, cocked it twice and pointed it on Ramos.
Ramos sought the assistance from Pat. Armi Gorgolon of Makati police community precinct (PCP) – 5, who immediately accosted Benian.
Recovered were a 12 gauge shotgun and two pieces of cartridges.
