MANILA, Philippines — A 4.6-magnitude earthquake occurred off Baganga town in Davao Oriental on Thursday evening, the Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the quake located 69 kilometers southeast of Barangay Baculin in Baganga town was of tectonic origin and has a shallow depth of just six kilometers.
No damage caused by the tremor was recorded as of posting, and Phivolcs said it does not expect any aftershocks to occur.
Phivolcs also said that no tsunami warning has been raised because of the quake. /kga
