MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to heavy rains are expected over the provinces of Laguna and Rizal on Thursday afternoon, the state weather bureau said in its mid-day bulletin.
In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 11:26 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that moderate to heavy rainshowers are expected over Laguna and Rizal in the next two hours.
Meanwhile, heavy to intense rains with lightning and strong winds are being experienced in some parts of Metro Manila (Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Las Piñas), Nueva Ecija (Gapan, San Isidro, Cablao, San Antonio, Jaen, Zaragoza, Santa Rosa) and Bulacan (San Miguel) which may persist within two hours and may affect nearby areas.
“[The public is] advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which may include flash floods and landslides,” the advisory read.
The state weather bureau earlier said that the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to thunderstorms on Thursday. /jpv
