Suspect in slay of Ozamiz radioman held in Bulacan

DAVAO CITY –– The suspect in the killing four years ago of Cosme Maestrado, a hard-hitting radio commentator in Ozamiz City, was arrested in Bulacan.

In a social media post, Joel Sy-Egco, executive director of the Presidential Task Force on Media Security said the suspect was linked to the notorious Parojinog gang based in Ozamiz City.

Egco said he would issue a statement on the matter.

Maestrado, a block time anchor in radio DxOC, was gunned down on August 27, 2015, outside a shopping center in Ozamiz City.

It was the second attempt on his life. In 2011, he was ambushed while driving his car en route to the station for an early morning broadcast./lzb
