No release order signed for Sanchez – DOJ chief

MANILA, Philippines – No release order has been issued for former Calauan, Laguna mayor Antonio Sanchez, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said.

Sanchez’ family alleged that the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has already issued a release order for the former mayor.

“I have been informed that BuCor Chief (Nicanor) Faeldon denies having signed a release order for Sanchez,” Guevarra said. BuCor is an attached agency of the DOJ.

“No report on such matter has been received by the DOJ,” Guevarra added.
