Shabu worth P24M seized in Central Visayas anti-drugs operations
CEBU CITY –– About P24 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated by authorities in separate operations in Central Visayas on Monday.
At past 3 p.m., Cebu City policemen arrested Myla Delumbar in a drug bust in Sitio Lumban in Barangay Guadalupe.
Seized from her was at least a kilo of shabu with an estimated value of P7 million.
Delumbar, 29, and considered a high-value target by the police, admitted that she was selling shabu.
During police interrogation, Delumbar revealed the identity of her cohort which resulted in another operation.
At past 5 p.m. on Monday, the Cebu City police together with their counterparts in Mandaue City arrested Vincent Dungug in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
Article continues after this advertisementAt least two kilos of shabu with an estimated value of P14.65 million were confiscated from his possession.
Article continues after this advertisementPolice Col. Gemma Vinluan, director of the Cebu City Police Office, said Delumbar and Dungog were alleged members of a big drug group in Cebu.
“We’ve been monitoring them. We have to double our effort because they belong to a big group,” Vinluan said.
She, however, declined to divulge details about the drug group so as not to compromise their ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in coordination with the police arrested a suspected drug peddler in Dumaguete City.
Jerick Calugcugan was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Candawinonan past 11 p.m. on Monday.
At least 300 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P2.04 million were seized from Calugcugan.
Charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, particularly for selling illegal drugs, will be filed against the suspects.
