Camarines Norte suspends classes due to ‘Jenny’

LEGAZPI CITY –– All 12 Camarines Norte towns suspended classes Tuesday due to heavy rains and thunderstorms brought by Tropical Depression “Jenny.”

Classes at all levels were suspended, except in San Vicente, where the suspension included only pre-school to junior high school.

As of this posting, no landslide and flooding were recorded in Camarines Norte and no evacuations made, said Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Danilo Toledo.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) placed Camarines Norte and the northeastern portion of Camarines Sur under tropical cyclone warning signal number 1 at 8 a.m.

Catanduanes has been under signal number 1 since 5 p.m. Monday.

Pagasa warned against sea travel for areas under signal number 1.

Jenny, which was expected to make landfall over Aurora province on Tuesday evening, was last seen moving west from its location at 440 km east of Daet town in Camarines Norte. /lzb
