Pasay City officials shut down on Thursday a residential compound converted into a warehouse of Chinese food products after it was found to be operating without business permits.
Pasay Business Permit and Licensing Office officials served the closure order on Dionisio Co, a Chinese national, who was renting the two-story building on Taft Avenue around 9:30 a.m.
Property owner Teresita de Vera said Co converted the residential compound into a warehouse without her knowledge.
Pasay police chief, Police Col. Bernard Yang, said he would ask the Bureau of Immigration if five other Chinese found in the building had working permits. —DEXTER CABALZA
