MANILA, Philippines — “I hope we can let bygones be bygones.”
With these words, Kris Aquino and former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas seemed to have patched up their differences and reconciled.
Speaking at the commemoration of her father’s 36th death anniversary Wednesday at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City, the actress-host invited Roxas to join her before the tomb of her dad, Senator Benigno Aquino Jr., for a photo.
“Please join me and let’s take a picture so Noy sees it,” Aquino told Roxas, referring to her older brother, former President Benigno S. Aquino III.
“I just want to do it publicly. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for everything that happened. Nagselos ako because I felt Noy chose you over me. I hope we can let bygones be bygones,” she said.
This came months after Aquino chided Roxas’ campaign manager for supposedly blaming her older brother for the former Cabinet Secretary’s defeat in the 2016 presidential elections.

Aquino went on and also extended her apology to Roxas’ mother.
“Baka ho hindi niyo alam [ang] mommy niya (Roxas), ninang ko sa binyag and she was really so good to me,” she said.
“Tell Ninang Judy, I’m also sorry,” she added to which Roxas responded with a nod and said: “No problem.” /kga
