TACLOBAN CITY –– Around 100 students of the University Philippines-Tacloban joined the mass protest on Tuesday to oppose plans to deploy policemen and soldiers in campuses.
Sheena Esplago, a fourth-year biology student, said activism, which is prevalent among students of the state university, should not be considered a move to promote communism.
The students started their indignation rally at 2:30 p.m. by marching within the school campus.
They later proceeded to the city’s downtown area where speakers from different school organizations spoke.
The rally ended around 4:30 p.m. /lzb
