Pagasa’s Tuesday forecast: Cloudy skies with scattered rains

MANILA, Philippines – The trough or extension area of a low pressure area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Bicol region, Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur on Tuesday, the state weather bureau said.

In its daily weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last spotted 975 kilometers (km) east of Catarman, Northern Samar.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon or “habagat” continues to affect the western section of Northern Luzon.

It is expected to bring cloudy skies with isolated rains and thunderstorms over Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands, Pagasa said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

The weather bureau warned of possible flash floods or landslides inn affected areas.

Extreme Northern Luzon will have moderate to strong winds from the southwest, with moderate to rough coastal waters.

Meanwhile, light to moderate winds from southwest to west will be experienced over the rest of the country, with slight to moderate coastal conditions, Pagasa added. /gsg
