MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to heavy rain with lightning and strong winds may be expected to occur in the National Capital Region and parts of Region 3 by Monday evening, the state weather bureau said.

According to the advisory released 3:30 p.m. by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), moderate to heavy rain will affect Metro Manila, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Zambales, Cavite, Tarlac, and Pampanga within the next two hours.

While rain is being experienced in Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, and Quezon province as of this posting, it may also persist within the next two hours, Pagasa noted.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” the state weather bureau said. /kga
