CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Former environment and natural resources secretary Gina Lopez, who succumbed to brain cancer on Monday, was hailed by Senator Christopher “Bong” Go for her “exceptional dedication” to protecting the environment.
“As a former colleague in the government, I know how passionate, dedicated and humble she was as a public servant and as an Earth warrior,” Go said in a statement.
“Her exceptional dedication in protecting our environment has no equal today,” Go added.
Go said that as a “fearless advocate and a tireless philanthropist,” Lopez dedicated most of her life for the betterment of her fellow Filipinos.
“Ma’am Gina, taus-pusong pasasalamat po sa inyong hindi napapantayang serbisyo sa kapwa Pilipino,” Go said.
“Isa kang katangi-tanging modelo ng tunay na pagmamalasakit sa kapwa tao. May your legacy continue for the generations to come,” he added.
