MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon or habagat is expected to bring isolated rain showers in the northern and central part of Luzon, Pagasa said Sunday.
Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, and Bataan will experience cloudy skies and isolated thunderstorms and rain showers.
Other areas in Luzon will experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Pagasa is also monitoring a low pressure area located 2,195 kilometers east of Visayas area.
While the LPA is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, its trough or extension will bring cloudy skies and isolated rain shower to parts of Mindanao.
Gale warning was raised in Batanes, Babuyan and Calayan Group of Islands, northern coast of Cagayan, and northern coast of Ilocos Norte.
Fishermen in the mentioned areas are advised to avoid sailing. /je
